16th Annual NIH Pain Consortium Symposium

Registration is now open for the 2021 Annual NIH Pain Consortium Symposium on Advances in Pain Care.

The symposium: “Pain and Pandemics: Challenges and Opportunities in the Current Social and Healthcare Climate,” will be held on May 24 – 25, 2021 in an all-virtual format.

Panel sessions will focus on different aspects of the overall theme: The Impact of social determinants of health on chronic pain and pain management, The impact of COVID-19 on Chronic Pain and co-morbidities, and a roundtable discussion of Interventions for reducing health disparities. The symposium will also feature “A Patient’s Perspective” presentation, and a Junior Investigator session.

Dr. Julie M. Fritz from The University of Utah will deliver a keynote address entitled, “Pain Management in a Time of Dual Pandemics: Opportunities to Advance Health Equity.”

Members of the extramural scientific community, the NIH Scientific community, health care providers and the public are invited to attend.
