2023 USASP Annual Scientific Meeting Registration
Hybrid Conference Dates: Tuesday, April 11 through Friday, April 14, 2023. For detailed information about what “hybrid event format” means please visit here. Registration rates are listed below (under "Registration Rates"). Registration to attend the 2023 meeting is CLOSED. REGISTRATION NOTES – PLEASE READ PRIOR TO REGISTERING FOR THE CONFERENCEALL REGISTRANTS:We encourage you to REGISTER EARLY. Due to social distancing seating arrangements, space for in-person attendees is limited. We will close in-person registration once we have reached capacity. (Registration for the virtual components of the program will still be available.) We will be using a conference (software application) platform WebEx Events, formally known as Socio, that allows both in-person and virtual participation in the conference. This year all symposia and plenary sessions will be streamed through Zoom and links will be shared through the conference platform. We encourage registrants to attend sessions LIVE to participate in Q&A. Only symposia and plenary sessions will be recorded. Information about accessing these recordings will be shared in the coming weeks. Registrants will receive access to the conference platform in early April 2023. This will give registrants ~2 weeks to complete their attendee profiles for the conference, read the user guides, and familiarize themselves with the conference platform user interface. On the platform (web-based platform and/or phone application) attendees will be able to create personalized agendas, view campus maps, network and engage with conference attendees and Special Interest Groups, attend conference sessions, and all the while earning points using the gamification feature. Continuing Education: Check back soon for more information Poster Presenters: If your research abstract was accepted to be presented as a poster at the conference, registration and in person attendance is required. There will be no virtual poster presentations at this time. If you cannot attend in person, please contact [email protected] Symposia Presenters: You will receive a discount code via email to enter during your registration to receive the speaker rate. If you did not receive this code or require a new code, please contact [email protected] In-Person Attendees:We are discouraging on-site registration and the conference schedule, location of events, and other program details will be accessed on your smartphone using the conference platform. Because social distancing requires a lot of planning, we ask that you choose the symposia you would like to attend as part of your registration. This will allow us to ensure that the room size for each symposium has the capacity to accommodate both interest and social distancing. The program starts on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 with the Early Career Forum (starting at 12:30) followed by a Welcoming Reception (4:30pm). We encourage you to participate in the full program, which ends on Friday, April 14, at 1:30pm. Travel Awards:We anticipate the opportunity to offer a limited number of Travel Awards for Trainees. A trainee is someone who is working toward a terminal degree or has completed their terminal degree and is currently in training (e.g., clinical or research fellowship). Information will be posted here as it becomes available. We are still waiting to hear from the NIH about our R13 application which partially funded more than 40 trainees to attend the 2022 USASP Annual Scientific Meeting. At this late date, we are concerned that our application will not be funded. Please consider donating even a small amount today to help us build a fund to support our trainees attending the upcoming meeting. If the R13 is funded, your donation will still be used to allow us to support even more trainees to attend the meeting. Thank you for your consideration and generosity. Early Career Forum: All students (undergraduate and graduate), postdoctoral fellows, and early career professionals (completed your terminal degree (MD/DO, PhD, RN) and are currently in training OR are within 5 years of completing your training) are encouraged to register to participate in the Early Career Forum. During your conference registration you will be asked if you would like to register. The forum will occur on April 11th from 12:30pm-4:30pm in Durham, NC. This event will include panel-led discussions, mentor round tables, and networking opportunities.
Virtual Attendees:The cost of attending the “virtual only” portion of the conference is lower due to the online format (no need to cover meals, meeting room rental, etc). NOT ALL sessions and conference activities will be available in the virtual format due to the challenges of supporting virtual access to some of our activities. What IS included in “Virtual Only” format:
