ABOUT THE EVENT
Join us for a 1-hour webinar exploring mechanistic and translational advances in quantitative sensory testing (QST). Dr. Daniel Harper will begin with an overview of QST and how different sensory testing approaches can be used to probe underlying mechanisms of nociceptive processing. He will highlight the standardized QST battery developed by the German Research Network on Neuropathic Pain (DFNS), using examples to illustrate both the mechanistic insights QST can provide and important considerations for interpretation of these data. He will then discuss the need to translate mechanistic QST findings from bench to bedside, and some of the challenges of this process.
Building on these themes, Dr. Corey Simon will focus on approaches that bring QST closer to the lived experience of pain, including movement-evoked pain and paradigms that combine experimental pain with motor behavior and learning. He will also discuss emerging and future directions for creating more sustained and clinically…
