Requirements for USASP Fellow Status

Fellow status — the highest class of membership within the US Association for the Study of Pain (USASP) — is an acknowledgment of outstanding and continuing work in the field of pain.​​ The USASP Fellow Status Award highlights the diverse, multidisciplinary nature of our society by recognizing researchers across a broad range of subspecialties and primary disciplines. Applicants should demonstrate a strong and sustained commitment to the pain field through their scholarly activities and ongoing support through contributions to USASP. This award aims to honor senior members who have significantly contributed to the broader professional community and our society. 

Fellow status acknowledges a broad scope of activities, including but not limited to research, teaching, administration, public service, practice, and notable participation within the society and pain community. Based on the standards below, a select number of Fellows will be inducted into the society each year.
